OUR STORY
The Renovation Company was founded and is run by Matt and Jessie Hagadone, a family team based on the Outer Banks. We are passionate about helping people make their space feel like home: a place for meaningful moments, for gathering with family and friends, and for nurturing the things you love — a sanctuary, safe from the outside world. Those are the things we value, and the things we would love to help you create in your own home.
Matt brings over 35 years of hands-on experience across every facet of renovation and building — framing, plumbing, and years of fine tile and stone work — the business grew steadily through referrals rather than advertising. Matt is on every job site, and that depth shows up in the finished details.
A WINNING COMBINATION
What sets Matt apart is simple, there is very little he will say no to. If you have a vision or a dream for your space, he is at his best figuring out how to make it real — getting creative and working within the rules of your town to pull it off. He takes the time to learn what's possible, and then he builds it. Jessie works as a partner and brings a strong design sensibility to the work — an ability to look at a space and see what it could become.
Matt leads the work on site, and together they handle the client side. This includes design conversations, communication about the project, and the day-to-day coordination that keeps a renovation moving without surprises. We keep our crew small and consistent. We don't subcontract core work to whoever's available, and that consistency is why our clients trust us with their homes.
OUR PROCESS
Every project starts with a free walkthrough. We see what you have, listen to what you want, and give honest feedback about what's possible and what it costs. No pressure.
You get a written estimate that breaks down materials, labor, and known unknowns. We don't low-bid and pad with change orders. If something unexpected shows up, we tell you before we proceed.
Matt is on every job. Our crew handles the work directly. We don't rotate subcontractors in and out. You know who is in your home.
